Housekeeping & FAQ

Housekeeping

Deposits

First time clients and appointments booked online require a 50% deposit to confirm the appointment. Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred to a new appointment up to two times with sufficient notice; otherwise they are forfeited after the cut-off.

Lateness and Cancellations/No-Shows

Cancellations, no-shows, and lateness significantly affect my business operations. With frequent bookings, any appointment delay of 15 minutes or unnotified cancellations disrupt productivity, morale, and client satisfaction. To safeguard both my business and customers, I enforce the following strict policy:

Client Lateness

I cannot guarantee the booked service to anyone who is over 10 minutes late, although I will make every effort to accommodate you. Please call me as soon as you know you will be late so I can assist you accordingly.

Cancellations/No-Shows

  • Cancellations within 24 business hours of the appointment will incur a 50% service fee.

  • Cancellations within 12 business hours or no-shows will incur a 100% service fee.

  • First-time clients must pay these fees before booking again.

  • Regular clients must pay these fees at their next appointment.

I book out very specific times for services according to what you have asked to be booked in for. Changes or cancellations made without prior notice will incur a 100% fee of the originally booked service.

Repeat Offenders

Clients with more than two late cancellations or no-shows must pre-pay for future appointments. Please provide as much notice as possible for cancellations by calling/texting 0435 715 508, or replying "No" to the automated confirmation text.

Appointments & Confirmations

Before booking, please review my Services page to understand the differences between each service offered. Notify me if you require gel polish removal or nail art so I can allocate sufficient time for your appointment. If you change your service preferences, please inform me beforehand to adjust the appointment duration and avoid charges for the original booking. My system sends an automated text 48 hours prior; reply "Yes" to confirm or "No" to cancel. For rescheduling, text me directly at 0435 715 508; do not reply to the automated message.

FAQ

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Due to operational changes, I am currently not issuing new gift vouchers as my appointment availability for new clients is limited. Existing vouchers remain valid and must be booked with Vanessa at House of Ten before their expiry date. Note that House of Ten gift vouchers are not accepted by other businesses at House of Ten Collective.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book online here or text me on 0435 715 508. New clients and online bookings require a non-refundable 50% deposit. This deposit can be transferred to a new date if you reschedule with sufficient notice. Please note that I do not accept appointments via email or Instagram DM.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No. I run by appointment only.

Can I make a group booking?

Due to operational changes and House of Ten now being a co-working space, each business manages its own bookings and appointments, which makes it challenging to accommodate groups.

Can I bring my child with me?

I kindly request that you do not bring your children or babies to your appointment at House of Ten Collective. Our space is small, and I aim to provide a relaxed environment for all clients. Thank you for your understanding.

What is the difference between gel polish and Shellac?

Nothing at all. "Shellac" is a brand of gel polish and one of the earliest on the market, which has led to its common use as a generic term. However, I use various brands for colors, so I refer to it simply as "gel polish."

What is BIAB?

BIAB stands for Builder in a Bottle. Similar to gel polish, it can be soaked off, but it provides greater strength and durability than gel polish alone. BIAB is ideal for naturally weaker nails or for those looking to grow their natural nails.

Do you do SNS, acrylics or extensions?

No. I work with gel polish and BIAB only.
